EconCircle, a student body of the Department of Economics, IIT Bombay, was established in August 2022 with the primary purpose of fostering the exchange and propagation of research ideas, methodologies, experience sharing of conferences attended by scholars and recent developments in diverse areas of economics and related fields. Our core mission revolves around facilitating knowledge-sharing sessions amongst scholars. To achieve this, we organize presentations showcasing ongoing Ph.D. research and engage in discussions on contemporary issues, policies, and available databases within the department. These sessions occur every Wednesday at 5:00 PM in the Econometrics Lab, featuring presentations by various Ph.D. scholars from our department. Till date, we have successfully hosted 40+ sessions spanning various branches of economics.

Our growing research community currently comprises more than 70 Ph.D. scholars from different departments. In addition to our core activities, EconCircle is dedicated to expanding our network to encompass researchers, economists, and professionals in the field. Our aim is to further enrich our learning and research capabilities through active involvement in research-focused workshops and scholarly conferences at the Ph.D. level.
